New Year – Same Skincare

I know that it’s the start of March, but I hope that everyone has had a wonderful start to the year! I was able to disconnect and spend a couple weeks off to celebrate the holidays with my friends and family.

In terms of skincare, I return to the same skincare time and time again! Below are my morning and night routines that have always worked for me with my favorite skincare. For a customized routine, I suggest making a dermatologist appointment and working with one to receive tailored guidance. Please remember when reading this that just because these items have worked for me doesn’t mean that they will work for you. I have incredibly dry and sensitive skin, so the products below will be for that skin type.

Step 1: Cleanse

I start my routine by washing my face with Neutrogena’s Clear Pore mask. I leave it on my face and let it harden as I floss, use mouthwash, and brush my teeth. This product is affordable and can be found at almost any drug store. I have used this daily cleanser since middle school and keep returning to it!

Step 2: Exfoliate

I exfoliate every morning with Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. It helped to reduce breakouts and clear pores. I recommend using this once every two days until your skin adjusts to this formula.

Step 3: Glow

With my dry skin, I love a glowy look! I use the Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum : Propolis + Niacinamide. It really does make my skin GLOW and calms my sensitive skin.

Step 4: Protect

Who doesn’t love an SPF? I wear SPF daily no matter the weather and have used multiple SPF’s over the years. My favorite one is Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Clear Stick SPF 60+. I love the stick formula and that it doesn’t hurt my eyes when I sweat through my workouts. It also looks great below my makeup!

Step 5: Hydrate

My skin needs a thick layer of hydration each morning and I turn to Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream. It’s thick, hydrating, and helps prep my skin for applying makeup.

Step 1: Cleanse

While in the shower, I wash my face with Neutrogena’s Clear Pore mask. I leave it on my face as I continue on with my routine.

Step 2: Vitamin C

I use Paula’s Choice C15 Super Booster which helps my skin with brightness, dark spots, and wrinkles.

Step 3: Hydrate

To finish off, I hydrate my skin with Cerave’s Moisturizing Cream, Body and Face Moisturizer. I like using a moisturizer that’s both for face and body at night to address everything at once.

I hope that you find a routine that works for both your skincare goals and budget. There are many influencers that promote using a plethora of skincare items, but you don’t need a 10-step skincare routine to achieve your goals. Find one that’s sustainable and creates the best results with less effort. For more advice, reach out to a dermatologist or medical professional!
